Hello! My name is Danilo, an Italian photographer and yoga teacher. Since spring 2014, I live in Heidelberg where I weekly give group and private yoga classes.
In over 15 years of practice, yoga has been bringing a deeper and truer awareness to all I do, opening my creativity and influencing my way of photographing.
Thanks to my sister Stefania who was already practicing
yoga, at the age of 17 I enrolled in a Tao Yoga course before discovering, one year later, the beauty of Kundalini Yoga.
In 2004, at the age of 19, I graduated in Fine Arts in Milan and immediately flew to New York where I attended a course in photography and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and kept studying Kundalini Yoga at the Kundalini Yoga East Center.
New York surprised and amazed me with its Broadway musicals, its streets full of emerging artists and its endless personalities:
it's here where my love for photography began.
In 2009, I became a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and enriched by this great experience I decided that 2009 would have been finally the time to travel to the country where yoga comes from; India.
India is not an easy country to explain, nor is it a place just to take a relaxed vacation with friends - it is a country which must be lived.
India makes you confront a reality which is often difficult. Everything is true and contradictory at the same time.
India helps you to break your mental habits, it takes you away from material possessions forcing you to abandon your ego and to rediscover yourself. It is here where I met Master Yogi Ram Ji, an incredible authentic yogi, and where I started taking his Himalayan Yoga classes (Hatha Yoga from the Himalayan tradition).
The experience I had in India confirmed what I was already working on; the importance of investigating within yourself.
Having returned from my first journey to India, I began to teach Kundalini Yoga in different studios, cultural centers, hospitals and associations.
In March 2017 I attended the Himalayan Yoga Teacher Certification in Rishikesh (India) at the Himalayan Yog Ashram, led by Master Yogi
Ram Ji and shortly after I started to teaching it in Heidelberg.
Once a year I organize a workshop in Heidelberg to give the opportunity to meet Master Ram Ji.
